In 2019, a white paper report conducted by American

Express reported that there are 2.3M Latina

entrepreneurs with an annual average of $51K in

revenue. The 17-year study, ending in 2015, concluded

that Latina entrepreneur was 206% growth , incorporated businesses.

Over 50% of Latinas are the bread winners of their

households. They are the lowest funded small

businesses by Venture Capital firms, which is under .5%.

Traditional banking is challenging and non-forgiving.

The best option is CDFIs and nontraditional lending. The

common use of funding for Latinas is personal savings, friends and family.

As part of the largest incoming majority population and

the driver of the women's small business market,

Latinas are the untapped diamond in the rough to

transform our economy and our underserved communities.

IC U/Latinas has created a night full of comedy, Latina stories, laughter and a

fundraising event for our cohorts of learning program. We are driven to bring

amazing resources and sharing these opportunities with as many people as possible to reach Latinas locally and nationally. When a community joins forces magical things happen.

We had an exciting evening, our inaugural exclusive “Las Comadres” of Comedy and Theater show with Latina story tellers and comedians. We organized this group of Latinas because we knew first hand they could share life’s drama and hilarious moments with passionate voices, educating us along the way, we are grateful to our sponsors of this amazing unforgettable experience. They were all wonderful, a moment to remember. 

We shared about our work at the end of each show with an engaged audience, where we invited them to be a part of our tribe to uplift Latina small businesses. The support and discussion were wonderfully enlightening as people stepped up and stepped forward to help wanting to learn more about our programs. Funding goes towards the cohorts of learning programs and reaching more Latinas across the US and Puerto Rico..
